This is the website of the Romford Smallholders Society. We run a large allotment site in the London Borough of Havering between Pretoria Road and Jubilee Avenue in Romford. To ask about renting a plot and becoming a member of the Society please phone Daniel Smart on 0773 9629 607. Membership of our Society costs just £1 per year. New members are always welcome and you do not have to live in Romford to be able to join; members come from across Havering and Barking and Dagenham. Our trading store sells a wide range of gardening goods, tools, compost and fertilisers all at competitive prices to members of the Society. The store (located at the Pretoria Road entrance to the site) is open most Sunday mornings throughout the year between 9.30 and 11.30 am. The Society is run by a committee made up from its members who meet regularly to run the business of the Society and undertake projects on its behalf. Our achievements include the installation of the new storage unit at the Pretoria Road entrance, installing new sign boards and organising and running the annual open day. Work has been done to clear overgrown plots, re-establish access paths and increase the number of parking spaces. We always need help with this work and in running the store.
